Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) MP Chandrashekhar emphasized the need for reservations for SCs, STs, and OBCs in the private sector during a Lok Sabha session on Monday. He also highlighted the issue of backlog vacancies in government jobs for these categories, urging immediate action to fill them. Chandrashekhar argued that the government should introduce reservation in promotions in the government sector as well to ensure equitable representation.

Addressing the Union Budget discussions, Chandrashekhar proposed capping LPG prices at Rs 500 per refill to mitigate the impact of rising inflation. He pointed out that wealth is concentrated among a few in the country and called for redistributing resources based on the population size determined by a caste census. He emphasized that OBC, SC, and ST communities make up 85% of the population.

In addition, Chandrashekhar criticized the Budget 2024-25 for reducing the allocation under the minority head. Rajkumar Roat from the Bharat Adivasi Party expressed concerns that the National Education Policy-2020 promotes privatization, undermining the education sector's accessibility for marginalized tribes. He stated that tribals are often labeled as 'naxal' when they assert their rights.
