In a dramatic turn of events in Mumbai's Dharavi area, the man who reported a shooting incident turned out to be the chief perpetrator, according to police. The accused, Shahnawaz Aslam Sheikh, was apprehended within six hours alongside his accomplice, Alam Mubarak Ali.
The police revealed that Sheikh’s motive was to incite fear and fortify his local criminal reputation. Initially misleading the authorities, Sheikh claimed that an unidentified person fired shots in the Madina Compound at roughly 5 AM.
However, surveillance footage soon exposed Sheikh and Ali at the crime scene. The two confessed during interrogation. A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, and further investigations are ongoing.
