Authorities confirmed that nine other children were wounded, six critically, alongside two adults who are currently in critical condition. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy from Merseyside Police praised the injured adults for their bravery in trying to protect the children.
Emergency services described the chaotic scene upon arrival, finding multiple victims, mainly children, suffering severe injuries. The event, advertised as a yoga and dance workshop for children aged between six and 11, turned into a nightmare. Merseyside Police stated that the motive is still unclear, though it’s not believed to be linked to terrorism, and no other suspects are being sought. The arrest occurred around 11:50 a.m. local time, with the suspect taken into custody along with the weapon.
