Tragic Theft: Man Kills Car Owner in Botched Escape

In Kolkata, a man attempting to steal a taxi fatally ran over the car's owner. The thief, in his late 20s, was arrested and charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The incident occurred when the thief tried to drive off with the taxi, leading to a fatal confrontation.

In a tragic turn of events, a man in his late 20s killed a taxi owner while attempting to steal the vehicle in central Kolkata. The incident took place on Zakaria Street on Tuesday morning. According to police sources, the accused spotted the key inside the taxi, which was being washed, and decided to drive it away.

Upon noticing the theft, the taxi's owner, Mohammed Feroz, rushed to stop the thief by standing in front of the car. However, the thief lost control and struck Feroz, who was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

The accused has been arrested and charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
