Governor Bose Visits Wayanad Landslide Relief Efforts

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose reached Kerala's Calicut to oversee relief efforts in Wayanad after landslides killed at least 123 people and injured 128. Bose is coordinating with central and state agencies and has spoken with Prime Minister Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He will visit hospitals and relief camps.

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose arrived in Kerala's Calicut on Tuesday night to assess ongoing relief efforts in Wayanad, where landslides have resulted in 123 fatalities and 128 injuries, according to the Raj Bhavan.

The Governor has communicated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding the rescue operations.

Bose is en route to the landslide-stricken Meppadi in the Wayanad Hills, keeping in touch with central and state agencies involved in the relief efforts.

At 73, Bose, a native of Kerala, plans to visit hospitals and relief camps to further aid in the rescue and relief operations.

He remains in close contact with the Chief Minister of Kerala, as noted by the Raj Bhavan.

Extreme heavy rainfall early Tuesday triggered multiple landslides in the hilly regions of Wayanad district. Alongside the reported casualties, many are feared to be trapped under debris.

The Governor stated that the nation stands united in solidarity with the victims, showing determination and confidence in facing the calamity.
