Shima Kathuria, the wife of Manuj Kathuria, fervently defended her husband, who has been arrested in connection with the tragic drowning of three IAS aspirants in the basement of an Old Rajinder Nagar coaching center.
According to the police, Manuj, a businessman, drove his SUV through a flooded area, causing water to swell and breach the building's gates. Shima argues that the gates were already weakened due to frequent waterlogging and that her husband was unaware of the impact. She believes that displaced water from the SUV was merely the final straw.
She stated that the family is in a state of panic due to Manuj's arrest but remains hopeful, expressing trust in the judicial system. A city court has yet to decide on Manuj's bail plea. Shima also highlighted that the police only informed them of the arrest after taking Manuj for questioning and that the video evidence shows Manuj driving cautiously despite the waterlogged conditions.
