A Deputy Commercial Tax Officer was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday for allegedly taking a Rs two lakh bribe.
The officer, from the Commercial Taxes Department at Punjagutta Circle-I, allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe for finalizing the audit of a complainant's firm for 2019-2020 and closing a notice issued to him.
The bribe amount was recovered from the officer. The case is currently under investigation.
