Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a drug smuggling ring, apprehending nine suspects and confiscating 655 grams of heroin valued at Rs 1.5 crore in the international market. This success is attributed to two separate operations conducted three months apart.
The initial crackdown occurred in March, leading to the arrest of seven individuals: Laxman Chauhan (28), Tasleema Khatun (41), Ashu Malik (36), Darshan (57), Beauty (55), Vikram (27), and Abdul Rehman (31). Authorities seized 385 grams of heroin, an autorickshaw, and Rs 1.44 lakh during this operation, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime branch) Amit Goel reported.
Information obtained from these suspects facilitated the second operation, executed on Tuesday. This resulted in the capture of Himanshu (23) and Subham Jalim (28) along with the discovery of another 270 grams of heroin and a vehicle, according to Goel.
