Tragic Loss for Al Jazeera: Journalists Killed in Gaza Strike
Al Jazeera reports the death of its journalist Ismail al-Ghoul and cameraman Ramy El Rify, who were killed in an Israeli strike on Gaza City while filming near the home of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. The total number of Palestinian journalists killed since Oct 7 has risen to 165.
Al Jazeera, Qatar's flagship TV network, announced on Wednesday the deaths of reporter Ismail al-Ghoul and cameraman Ramy El Rify in an Israeli strike on Gaza City.
According to colleague Anas Al-Sharif, Ghoul and Rifi were on assignment near the home of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed earlier in the day in an attack blamed on Israel.
With these latest fatalities, the Hamas-run Gaza government media office stated that the death toll of Palestinian journalists due to Israeli fire since October 7 now stands at 165.
