The Allahabad High Court is set to deliver its verdict on Thursday regarding a petition that challenges the viability of multiple suits linked to the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah mosque controversy in Mathura.
Justice Mayank Kumar Jain reserved his judgment on June 6 after hearing the plea from the Muslim side, which questioned the maintainability of the suits.
Several litigants are demanding the removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque, claiming it was built over the demolished Krishna Janmabhoomi temple during the Aurangzeb era. The mosque management committee, alongside the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board, has argued that these suits violate the Places of Worship Act, 1991.
