Decision on Bail for Coaching Centre Co-Owners Expected Monday

The decision on the bail pleas of four co-owners of a coaching centre's basement, where three civil services aspirants drowned, will be made by a district judge on Monday. The case was referred by Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Kumar to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Central Delhi, for further consideration.

The decision on the bail pleas of four co-owners of a coaching centre's basement, where three civil services aspirants drowned last month, will now be decided by a district judge here on Monday.

Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Kumar, who was hearing the appeal of the accused -- Parvinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh and Sarbjit Singh -- against the denial of bail by a magisterial court, referred the pleas to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Central Delhi.

The court's direction came after noting it did not receive the high court order transferring the case to CBI.

"The District and Sessions Judge, Delhi Central, will make a decision in light of recent developments," said Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava.

The hearing has been posted for August 5. On Friday, the Delhi High Court transferred the probe into the drowning incident from local police to the CBI to ensure public trust in the investigation.
