Haryana CM Announces Major Agricultural Sops Ahead of Elections
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced several agricultural incentives, including the procurement of all crops at minimum support price and waiving off Rs 133 crore in canal water irrigation charges. This comes as part of BJP's campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in the state, aiming to attract various voter sections.

On Sunday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made significant announcements regarding agricultural incentives in the state. With the upcoming assembly elections in focus, Saini declared that all crops shall now be procured at the minimum support price (MSP). Additionally, the state will waive Rs 133 crore in outstanding canal water irrigation charges, benefiting farmers significantly.
Addressing the BJP's 'Vijay Shankhnad' rally, Saini emphasized that the state government, under BJP's leadership, had consistently supported farmers by procuring 14 different crops at MSP over the last decade. Saini also announced the abolition of the 'abiana' charge system, which will provide an annual relief of Rs 54 crore to the farmers.
Saini further promised the clearance of pending compensations worth Rs 137 crore for farmers affected by natural calamities in specific regions and introduced new measures for acquiring tubewell connections and the replacement of damaged electricity transformers without cost to farmers. These announcements aim to bolster BJP's campaign and highlight the party's pro-farmer stance ahead of the elections.
