Twelve property owners in Jammu city are facing legal action for not providing tenant verification details to the local police, according to an official spokesperson.
This initiative began after several cases surfaced of anti-national elements residing in residential areas under false pretenses.
Ten FIRs were filed against landlords in Bahu Fort and two in Channi Himmat based on violations cited under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The district magistrate had already mandated tenant police verification within the district's jurisdiction.
Police are urging residents to submit complete details of their tenants and domestic helpers for timely verification.
