After a two-week hiatus, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi resumed the public grievance hearing in Bhubaneswar on Monday. Approximately 5,000 people attended, resulting in a massive rush during the registration process. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, alongside four other ministers and senior officers, participated in the event, which lasted from 10 am to 5 pm.

Over 2400 grievances were registered throughout the day, and many were resolved through telephonic instructions to relevant officials. According to Parida, the BJP government is committed to providing speedy justice to the public via these hearings, which will soon be expanded to the district level under the supervision of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC).

Parida also mentioned that the government would assess the progress of the public grievance redressal program and publish a detailed report after 100 days. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan also conducted a similar hearing at the BJP party office, though it drew criticism from the opposition BJD for allegedly limiting the hearings to party workers only.

In response to these criticisms, BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty expressed that while hearing public grievances is a positive step, such sessions should not be confined to party offices, forcing the general public to visit party venues to resolve their issues.
