Karnataka Women and Child Development Minister, Laxmi Hebbalkar, has confirmed that recipients of the Gruha Lakshmi guarantee scheme will start receiving funds from Tuesday.
The Gruha Lakshmi scheme, which provides Rs 2,000 to women heads of families in economically disadvantaged sections, was one of the Congress' key pledges in last year's Assembly elections and was inaugurated on August 30, 2023, in Mysuru.
Speaking at a public gathering in Mandya, Hebbalkar noted that some women had voiced complaints to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about not receiving payments for the past two months. She attributed the delay to a technical glitch, assuring the crowd that the issue has been resolved and payments will commence.
Hebbalkar emphasized the Congress party's commitment to fulfilling its promises, much to the applause of the gathered audience.
