Man Arrested for Molesting Teenage Girls in Thane District

A 26-year-old man named Sonu Jagdishprasad Mishra was arrested in Thane district's Bhiwandi taluka for allegedly molesting teenage girls. Mishra reportedly took the girls to the building's terrace and inappropriately touched them. Following a complaint by the girls' parents, an FIR was filed under BNS Section 74 and POCSO Act.

Police have taken a 26-year-old man into custody in Maharashtra's Thane district on charges of molesting teenage girls residing in his housing complex, an official said on Tuesday.

The suspect, Sonu Jagdishprasad Mishra, was arrested on Monday at Kasheli in Bhiwandi taluka just hours after the alleged incident occurred, according to authorities.

Mishra is accused of inappropriately touching several teenage girls after luring them to the building's terrace during the late evening. The girls reported the incident to their parents, leading to a police complaint and his subsequent arrest.

An FIR has been registered under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in connection with the case, the official added.
