Four Accused of Abetment in Thane Suicide Case

Police in Thane, Maharashtra, have registered an FIR against a 31-year-old woman and three male friends for allegedly abetting her husband's suicide, an official reported on Wednesday.

The woman and her associates reportedly blackmailed and harassed the 42-year-old man, which led him to hang himself at his residence in the Dombivli area on December 20, 2023, according to authorities.

The case was registered on Monday based on a complaint by the victim's brother. Charges include abetment of suicide, criminal intimidation, and common intention, as stated by an official from Vishnu Nagar police station.
