Barber Arrested for Spit Incident; Shop Demolished

A barber, identified as Yusuf, was detained the day after a video surfaced on social media showing him applying his spit on a customer’s face, according to police reports on Thursday.

The makeshift shop, which was an encroachment constructed with tin sheets, was subsequently destroyed by the local administration.

Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand stated that the incident occurred a fortnight ago but only recently gained attention after the video was posted online. The police swiftly arrested Yusuf on Wednesday night following the viral spread of the footage. The Circle Officer confirmed that the barber was seen spitting in his palms and then applying the substance onto the customer’s face. Following the arrest, the local administration used a bulldozer to dismantle the unauthorized salon.
