Yasin Malik Vows to Defend Himself Against NIA's Death Penalty Plea

Separatist leader Yasin Malik has declared his intention to personally contest the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) plea seeking the death penalty in a terror funding case. Speaking from Tihar jail, Malik informed the Delhi High Court that he wishes to argue his case in-person.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief, currently serving a life sentence, stated he believes appearing virtually undermines a fair trial. He urged the court for either physical or virtual representation to ensure proper delivery of justice.

A bench headed by Justice Suresh Kumar Kait will hear the matter on September 19 and advised Malik to reconsider appointing legal representation, emphasizing the importance of fairness in judicial proceedings.
