Mayawati Questions Congress Silence on SC-ST Reservation Ruling

BSP chief Mayawati on Saturday questioned the Congress' silence concerning the Supreme Court's August 1 judgment, which directed states to formulate a policy for identifying the creamy layer among SCs and STs.
She emphasized the need for the reservation system to be made effective and called for a parliamentary session to discuss the issue. During a press conference in Lucknow, Mayawati urged the BJP government and other parties to clarify their stance.
Mayawati also challenged AAP, governing Delhi and Punjab, to declare their position on the matter. She criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for not addressing reservation issues post-elections and called for immediate legislative action.
