Kashmir Police Chief V K Birdi has directed security agencies in the valley to enforce strict vigilance by setting up 24x7 checkpoints and employing joint mechanisms to dismantle the terror network ahead of Independence Day.

During a meeting held at the Police Control Room in Kashmir, senior officials from the police, Army, CRPF, BSF, Traffic, and Intelligence Bureau reviewed overall security plans. The officers were advised to intensify night domination in critical areas and establish special checkpoints at vulnerable and strategic entry-exit points in Srinagar.

Birdi emphasized the importance of smooth conduct for the forthcoming celebrations and directed officers to maintain strict vigilance and be prepared to counter emerging challenges effectively.
