Ukraine's Bold Incursion into Russia's Kursk Region

In a surprising development, Ukraine's army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi announced on Monday that Kyiv has assumed control of around 1,000 square kilometers of Russia's Kursk region. This marks Syrskyi's first public statement on the audacious cross-border move.
Accompanying the announcement, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy posted a video snippet of Syrskyi's report on Telegram. Zelenskiy stated he has instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive 'humanitarian plan' for the newly controlled area.
