Ukraine announced on Tuesday that its forces had taken control of 74 settlements in Russia's southern Kursk region. The major cross-border incursion has advanced between 1 to 3 kilometers in the last 24 hours, officials said.
In a video briefing to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Oleksandr Syrskyi, a senior military leader, detailed that Kyiv's forces had seized 40 square kilometers of new territory over the past day.
The report underscores the intensifying conflict and Ukraine's strategic military gains in the region.
