Governor Urges Enhanced Campus Security Following Tragic Incident

In light of the tragic rape and murder of a woman doctor, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has directed the vice-chancellors of state universities to strengthen security measures on their campuses, according to sources from Raj Bhavan.
During a virtual meeting attended by around 30 vice-chancellors, Bose emphasized the need for enhanced protection for female students and staff. Expressing his discontent, Bose criticized the Kolkata Police's handling of the case. He termed the incident a 'crime against humanity.'
Bose has been in discussions with agitating doctors and has scheduled another meeting with them. This follows the Calcutta High Court's decision to transfer the case from the Kolkata Police to the CBI. The case has sparked widespread agitation among junior doctors, crippling state healthcare services.
