Supreme Court Directs CAT to Address Infrastructure Shortfalls in Jammu
The Supreme Court has ordered the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Jammu to provide a status report on its infrastructure needs. The court highlighted that a lack of support staff has hindered daily operations. A new building has been shortlisted for the tribunal, and amenities are being completed.

In a move to address infrastructure deficiencies at the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Jammu, the Supreme Court has mandated a status report on the tribunal's requirements to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan emphasized that the tribunal's operations have been hampered by a shortage of support staff. The bench assured that since the tribunal's composition is now complete, it should begin functioning without delays in Jammu.
The court also directed the court registrar to expedite the status report from the senior judicial member of the tribunal. The Union Territory administration has identified a building in Channi, Jammu, to house the tribunal's bench, with facilities nearing completion.
