In a startling incident, Madhu Jayakumar, the manager of a public sector bank in Kerala, has allegedly absconded with approximately 26 kilograms of gold ornaments, police sources revealed on Friday.
Jayakumar, who managed the Edodi branch in Kozhikode district, reportedly fled with the gold items that had been pawned by customers over time. The shocking theft was discovered during a routine reappraisal process following his recent transfer to another branch in Kochi.
Authorities believe the manager exploited his position to gradually siphon off the valuable items. Jayakumar, who hails from Tamil Nadu, is now the subject of a police investigation, and efforts are being made to locate him.
