22-Year-Old Arms Supplier Arrested in Connection with VHP Leader's Murder

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police, in a coordinated effort with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has apprehended Dharminder Kumar, a 22-year-old arms supplier wanted in the high-profile murder of Vikas Prabhakar, president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad's Nangal unit in Punjab. Kumar, a Ludhiana resident, was taken into custody following an extensive investigation.
According to Additional Commissioner of Police P S Kushwah, Kumar procured weapons from Madhya Pradesh that were used in the assassination of Prabhakar on April 13 at his confectionery shop in Nangal. The case, initially registered at Nangal police station in Rupnagar district, was later handed over to the NIA in May.
A tip-off led to Kumar's capture by a joint team from the Special Cell and NIA in Balmiki Colony, Ludhiana. The suspect confessed to his role in the crime and has a history of supplying illegal arms, with two previous cases under the Arms Act filed against him. An FIR has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.
