In a tragic and violent incident, robbers armed with guns and rocket-propelled grenades ambushed a police convoy in Pakistan on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of at least eleven officers and injuries to others, according to the police and interior ministry.
The lethal encounter occurred in the southern Pakistani district of Rahim Yar Khan, specifically near the border between two provinces. A police statement detailed that two police patrols were targeted in this attack.
In response to the assault, Pakistan's interior ministry and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the unprovoked violence, ordering police leadership to take immediate and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators.
