New blasts were heard on approach to Kyiv during morning hours on Monday in what sounded like air defence systems engaged in repelling an air attack, Reuters witnesses said.
The blasts in the Ukrainian capital followed several earlier waves of attacks and explosions. Kyiv and the rest of the country were under air raid alerts with Ukraine's air force warning of a large-scale Russian attack.
