In response to reports blaming India for causing floods in parts of Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs has firmly denied these claims, calling them 'factually not correct' and 'misleading'.

At a recent media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted that the reports ignore India's consistent and timely exchange of critical water management data with Bangladesh. He attributed the flooding to incessant and excessive rains.

Jaiswal further clarified that the allegations have sparked unwarranted anti-India sentiments. He also discussed issues like the safe passage of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India and recent comments on bilateral projects affected by Bangladesh's political turmoil.
