CENTCOM assessed that al-Danal was aiding the efforts of detained IS fighters. The operation was conducted with the support of the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF).

This capture represents a significant stride in the ongoing efforts to dismantle IS networks and limit their operational capabilities.
