Identified as Sagar Chavhan, the victim was attacked around 7 am while traveling on Sinhagad Road. He sustained multiple machete wounds and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. A video capturing the attack has gone viral on social media.

According to police preliminary findings, the assault appears to be the result of an old enmity. The suspects were apprehended within a few hours of the incident. A case has been registered at the Haveli police station.
