A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a hair salon owner in Ulhasnagar, police reported on Friday. The accused, Shera Makhija, reportedly stabbed Ilias Shaikh, 39, following a rent dispute.
Official sources stated that Makhija had rented his shop to Shaikh. The altercation escalated when Shaikh requested more time to pay the rent, leading to the fatal stabbing on Thursday night. Shaikh passed away in the hospital on Friday.
A First Information Report has been lodged against Makhija under section 103 (1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation is ongoing.
