In a notable initiative, the Kejriwal government in Delhi has extended substantial financial and medical support to lawyers through the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme. Since its launch in 2019, more than 200 families of deceased lawyers received over Rs 15 crore, and upwards of 2,500 lawyers and their families availed medical insurance benefits.

Speaking at the 17th foundation day of Dwarka district court, Delhi Law Minister Atishi emphasized the government's commitment to the legal community. She highlighted that the AAP government is the inaugural administration in India to offer up to 200 units of free electricity to lawyers for their chambers.

The scheme has seen the enrollment of around 28,000 lawyers and provides term insurance of Rs 10 lakh and medical insurance of Rs 5 lakh. The initiative proved crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering indispensable support to lawyers when they needed it the most. The government continues to prioritize the welfare of lawyers, ensuring robust financial and medical aid.
