NDRF Rushes to Gwalior Amid Severe Flooding

A 60-member National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is currently en route from Hyderabad, Telangana, to assist with ongoing flood relief operations in the Gwalior region of Madhya Pradesh, a senior official confirmed on Thursday.
The region has experienced a staggering 8 inches of rainfall within the past 24 hours, severely disrupting daily life and inundating numerous villages.
Authorities have initiated airlifting for residents of Seknara village in Dabra tehsil, with approximately 500 people rescued amid the flooding so far. Local educational institutions from nursery to Class VIII and various offices in Gwalior have been ordered to remain shut on Friday and Saturday.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a review meeting to assess the flood situation and directed state government employees to refrain from taking leave during this emergency period.
