Top IPS Officers Appointed to Key Positions in NCRB, SVPNPA, IB, CISF, CRPF, and BSF
Senior IPS officers Alok Ranjan and Amit Garg have been appointed as chiefs of NCRB and SVPNPA. Multiple senior officers from the 1993 batch have also been appointed to prominent roles in various security agencies, according to an official order. These appointments have been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Senior IPS officers Alok Ranjan and Amit Garg were appointed as chiefs of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and Hyderabad-based Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) respectively, an official order stated on Saturday.
Ranjan, a 1991-batch IPS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, will serve as the Director of NCRB until his superannuation on June 30, 2026. He takes over from batchmate Vivek Gogia, who is repatriated to the AGMUT cadre.
Garg, a 1993-batch IPS officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre, will lead SVPNPA until his retirement on October 31, 2027. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved the appointments of several 1993-batch IPS officers to significant roles in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), CISF, CRPF, and BSF.
