Narcotics Trade Fuels Terrorism: Top Cop Reveals Shocking Link

The use of proceeds from the narcotics trade by terrorist handlers in Pakistan to fund terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has been confirmed. DGP R R Swain emphasized the significant link between narcotics and terrorism, revealing investigations that traced the drugs' origin to Pakistan and their use in financing terror activities.

The proceeds of the narcotics trade in Pakistan are being utilized by terrorist handlers to counteract depleting funds, exacerbated by a crackdown on hawala channels, fueling terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory's top cop revealed Sunday.

'Narcotics are emerging as a primary funding source for terrorism. It’s a societal triple whammy. Traditional hawala channels for terror funding have largely been blocked. Proceeds from narcotics are filling this gap,' stated Director General of Police R R Swain.

Swain stressed the undeniable link between narcotics and terrorism, supported by investigations from the SIA and other agencies, establishing that drugs originating from Pakistan are significant in financing terror activities.
