The Congress has intensified its attack on the BJP following remarks by its MP, Kangana Ranaut, advocating the reinstatement of the repealed farm laws. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarify whether he opposed Ranaut's comments or was complicit.
The opposition party also demanded that the BJP expel Ranaut if it did not align with her statements. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge targeted the BJP, asserting that upcoming state elections would deliver a fitting response. Meanwhile, Ranaut retracted her remarks, clarifying they were her personal opinions and not those of the party.
In a pre-recorded video shared widely on social media, Gandhi accused the BJP of testing public reaction to controversial ideas and warned that the revived farm laws would face staunch opposition from the INDIA bloc. Congress representatives reiterated their stand against the farm laws and questioned the BJP's true motivations.
