Anurag Jain Appointed as Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh
Senior IAS officer Anurag Jain has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh. He will succeed Veera Rana and will hold the post until his retirement on August 31, 2024. Senior Indian Administrative Service officer Anurag Jain was appointed Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh on Monday, succeeding 1988 batch officer Veera Rana, who received two six-month extensions.
Jain, the 35th Chief Secretary of MP, is set to retire on August 31 next year, according to the state government's public relations department. He is a 1989 batch IAS officer currently serving as Secretary in the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Throughout his career, Jain has held key positions such as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, Secretary to the former Chief Minister Shivarj Singh Chouhan, and Acting Chairman-Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of India. He holds a B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and an MA in Public Administration from Maxwell Institute, USA.
