India asserts that its business ties with Canada will not be immediately influenced by the recent diplomatic tensions concerning the murder of a Sikh separatist leader, said a government source on Tuesday. Furthermore, Canadian investment funds are anticipated to maintain their stance on Indian relations, the source confirmed.

On Monday, relations took a hit after Canada connected India's high commissioner and other diplomats to the killing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil. This linkage led to accusations that New Delhi was orchestrating a broader agenda against Indian dissidents residing in Canada.

India has vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as components of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's "political agenda." Despite the rising diplomatic strain, the business ties between the two countries are expected to remain stable.
