The Delhi High Court has reinforced the ban on the sale of firecrackers, citing existing pollution issues in the capital. This decision came while hearing a petition from the Delhi Fireworks Shopkeepers Association.
The petition highlighted grievances about harassment following the government's ban on cracker storage. However, the court maintained a firm stance, stressing the potential misuse of stored firecrackers if the ban is not strictly enforced.
Justice Sanjeev Narula remarked that authorities would seal storage facilities to prevent illegal sales. The court made it clear that exceptions would not be granted, aligning with the government's measures to reduce air pollution in Delhi until January 1.
