Russian forces are intensifying their assault on four towns in eastern Ukraine as they aim to dominate the Donbas region, according to pro-Russian bloggers. Battles are raging in towns such as Selydove, Hirnyk, Kurakhove, and Toretsk, with Russian and Ukrainian troops clashing fiercely.
Yuri Podolyaka, a Ukrainian-born pro-Russian military blogger, reported that Russian forces are attacking Hirnyk from various directions, engaging in combat in the town center. Pre-war populations in these towns ranged from 10,000 to 20,000, highlighting the scale of disruption caused by the conflict.
Despite Ukraine repelling 56 attacks near Selydove and 47 in areas like Hirnyk and Kurakhove, Russian forces have made notable advancements since September at a pace not seen since March. Ukrainian authorities confirmed these defensive efforts but remain vigilant against further Russian maneuvers.
