In a commendable effort, Gwalior police assisted a Russian woman in recovering her passport after it was taken by a Delhi-based man. The man had lured her to the city under the guise of a job offer, according to City Superintendent of Police Hina Khan.
After refusing the job, the 35-year-old woman found herself stranded as the man left for Delhi with her passport, said CSP Khan. Seeking help, she approached the local authorities with the assistance of a citizen and communications facilitated through a translator.
Efficient coordination led the Gwalior police to track down the suspect in Delhi, successfully retrieving the passport. The woman, holding a valid visa, chose not to take further legal action, and the police pledged to assist her in returning to her acquaintance in Delhi.
