The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed the involvement, stating, "We understand the family is considering relevant legal options, and the government is offering all possible support in this matter."
Priya's case, which initially resulted in a capital punishment verdict in 2020, saw Yemen's Supreme Judicial Council uphold the decision in 2023, with President Rashad al-Alimi reportedly approving the death sentence.
