A special court has sentenced eight Pakistani nationals to 20 years of imprisonment in connection with a 2015 drug trafficking case involving the seizure of more than 200 kg of heroin.
The judgement, passed by Judge Shashikant Bangar under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, also levied a fine of Rs 2 lakh on each convict.
The individuals were apprehended by the Indian Coast Guard with substantial amounts of heroin and electronic navigation equipment, underscoring a significant trafficking operation.
