Fiji police have launched an investigation into an alleged assault involving two Virgin Australia crew members. The incident reportedly occurred in Nadi in the early hours of New Year's Day.
According to authorities, the crew, who were on a layover in the tourist hotspot, visited a nightclub and fell victim to theft and alleged rape while returning to their hotel. The investigation remains ongoing, said Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew.
Virgin Australia confirmed its awareness of the case and has dispatched personnel to provide support. The assault in the South Pacific island nation, popular among tourists, comes amidst a period of high visitor numbers, with over 76,000 tourists recorded in November.
