In a recent legal development, an MP-MLA court in Sant Kabir Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, sentenced former MLA Mohammad Tabish Khan and his brother, Eftekhar, to a three-year jail term on Friday.
The conviction stems from a 2016 incident when the duo allegedly assaulted a police constable, leading to a trial under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Chief Judicial Magistrate Chetna Tyagi delivered the verdict, which also included a fine, reflecting ongoing tensions surrounding election-related roles and accusations of intimidation.
