Medvedev Rejects Ukraine's Territory Swap Proposal

Dmitry Medvedev dismissed Ukraine's proposal to exchange Russian and Ukrainian territories. The Ukrainian President suggested this to end the ongoing conflict. Medvedev emphasized Russia's strength, citing recent strikes on Kyiv. Currently, Russia holds a significant portion of Ukraine, while Ukraine controls a fraction of Russian territory.

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, decisively rejected Ukraine's proposal to exchange territories. Medvedev labeled the idea as 'nonsense', in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's comments to the Guardian.

Zelenskiy had suggested a direct territory swap in hopes of ending the ongoing war, proposing Russia trade certain regions it holds in exchange for Moscow-controlled parts of Ukraine.

Medvedev, who previously served as Russia's president, reiterated Russia's capacity for peace through force, highlighting recent drone and missile strikes on Kyiv. The current territorial control shows Russia holding nearly 20% of Ukraine, while Ukraine retains a small amount of Russian territory.
