A 22-year-old woman has reportedly taken her own life after consistent harassment and exploitation by her neighbor, Rakesh Sharma, according to local authorities.

The tragic incident came to light after a suicide note was discovered, revealing disturbing allegations of sexual assault and extortion amounting to Rs 2 lakh by Sharma.

Police have initiated a manhunt for Sharma while his mother has been arrested. The victim, who was due to marry on March 3, had her wedding called off due to the pressure and threats from Sharma and his family.
