Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council has taken decisive action against several high-profile figures by imposing sanctions, a move formally ratified by a presidential decree made public on Thursday. The list of sanctioned individuals notably includes former President Petro Poroshenko.

Also targeted are prominent figures like jailed tycoon Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Bogolyubo, a former co-owner of the major financial institution PrivatBank. In a strategic move, the council also sanctioned Viktor Medvedchuk, known for his close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
